Did barcelona deserve to win ?

First things first, the answer to that question is undoubtedly yes. They beat us all over the park and made us look like a championship team. Our most influential player and captain was nowhere to been seen and if it wasn't for some heroics from substitute Almunia arsenal could have been spanked by double figures. So after all of that all that is left to say if well done to Barcelona and that it’s going to take a hell of a team performance to beat that side. In fact i don’t think that any team is going to be able to beat the over two legs. I think the only way that they are going to loose the champions league is by getting to the final and becoming over complacent. Apart from that i don’t see anyone beating them.

With all that said and done there are a couple things I will like to bring to your attention:

1. I hope Arsene wenger was watching.

A lot is made over Barcelona ability to keep the ball over the course of a match but what stood out for me was not there ability to play one-twos and then create a chance through a deft pass round the corner . it was there ability to, once that move broke down , hunt in packs and win the ball back before the opposition have a chance to create a attack for themselves. Countless Caparisons have been made between arsenal and Barcelona’s style of football but 1 difference is the Spaniards hunger to retrieve the ball after an attack had broke down and all i can say is; Arsene i hope your watching. No successful team has a feeble defence.

2. That ref was a joke

I’m sorry and i really hope i don’t get charged by the FA for this (lol) but that ref was shit (please excuse me for this but i cant thin of another word to describe him). Van persie’s red card was an absolute joke and that ref needs to sit down and realise that he spoilt a great game with that and other decisions that went on during the game. Shambles is all i can say else on that or the FA my be knocking on my door tomorrow morning.

The only positive i can get from that game is Jack Wilshere’s performance. Yet again his ability to fight for his club and his commitment over the 90 mins was a breath of fresh air and should be looked at by the rest of his team mate and inspiration to go and on the weekend make up for the recent disappointments.
